ProtoPrint S4
Manual Fine Pitch Printing
The LPKF Edition SMT ProtoPrint S4 is a professional manual stencil printer designed for fine-pitch SMD prototyping and small batch PCB production. It enables accurate and repeatable solder paste application, which is essential when assembling boards with miniature SMD components. Using stencil printing, multiple solder deposits can be applied quickly and consistently in a single operation.
Suitable for both single-sided and double-sided PCB prototypes, the system supports stainless steel stencils as well as polyimide foils through its integrated clamping frame. High positioning accuracy, adjustable print height and easy stencil frame clamping help ensure reliable printing results. The flat base plate accommodates magnetic PCB holders, while micrometre adjustments for the X, Y and rotational axes allow precise board alignment. Optimised stencil data can be generated directly from PCB layouts using LPKF CircuitPro software, and polyimide stencils can be quickly produced with an LPKF ProtoMat system, enabling rapid transition from design to assembly.

ProtoFlow S4
Reflow Oven for Lead-Free SMD Soldering
The LPKF Edition SMT ProtoFlow S4 is a compact convection reflow oven designed for lead-free and RoHS-compliant SMD soldering of PCB prototypes up to 320 x 220 mm. Its intuitive software allows users to select predefined soldering profiles or create custom temperature and timing parameters, ensuring precise control throughout the reflow process.
A large viewing window enables continuous visual monitoring, while active cooling helps prevent unwanted temperature fluctuations after soldering. Four integrated thermocouples control heat distribution across the chamber, with an additional movable temperature sensor available for monitoring critical PCB areas. The low-vibration design also supports reliable processing of double-sided circuit boards, making the ProtoFlow S4 a practical solution for laboratory-based PCB assembly and finishing.


ProtoPlace E4
Manual Pick & Place System
The LPKF Edition SMT ProtoPlace E4 is a manual pick and place system designed for SMD assembly of PCB prototypes and small production runs in laboratory environments. It provides a faster and more efficient alternative to manual component placement, helping users assemble SMT boards with greater speed and accuracy.
Components are picked directly from trays or integrated tape feeders using a vacuum needle and positioned onto the PCB with a single-handed operation. An ergonomically designed placement tool, integrated camera, overhead monitor and smooth axis movement support precise positioning of even small and fine-pitch components.
To accommodate a wide range of component sizes, the system includes multiple needle diameters for immediate use. Prior to component placement, solder paste must be applied to the PCB pads, either through the dispensing function of an LPKF ProtoMat system or by stencil printing with the LPKF ProtoPrint S4, creating a seamless SMT assembly workflow.
